Input from the people we serve is very important to the Department in our evaluation of the services we provide. Your comments, both those which may be critical and those which are complimentary, are very useful in ensuring that we perform our mission efficiently, effectively, and professionally.

To COMMEND a member of the Department please choose one of the following methods:

You may share a compliment verbally by contacting the Office of the Chief of Police at (804) 412-0600. You may be asked if we can direct your call to the on-duty supervisor or commander in order to better determine the officer whose assistance you are commending.

You are not required to make a written complaint for the Police Department to investigate the conduct or actions of an employee. If you choose, you may make a complaint in writing (typically a letter) to preserve a record of your report.
